Working Conditions of Employees
As an international enterprise, we offer attractive employment opportunities at all levels, and across many disciplines.
Leica Geosystems strives to offer its employees an interesting, flexible and challenging work environment. We recognise the importance of equal opportunity and diversity in the workplace, and there is a strong emphasis on high quality education and training, with an apprenticeship program in place. We also have a strong commitment to the social well-being of our employees. We have an in-house Social Worker, programs in place to support retirees and employees returning to work after an illness or accident. Long-serving employees are acknowledged at the Jubilee Celebration ‘Jubiäumsfeier’.

We provide attractive annual leave packages for our employees, as well as a generous maternity leave program. In Switzerland, we offer an attractive fringe benefit program that includes five weeks of holiday per year (six weeks from the age of 49) and 14 weeks of maternity leave after 10 months of employment. In the United States, we offer full maternity leave after one year of service (partial after 6 months) and an extremely competitive company-matched retirement plan (401(k)).

Employees in Switzerland have flexible working hours within a 40-hour week, determining with their supervisors how they can best combine personal and professional needs.

Leica Geosystems' employees have access to a Personnel representative, who ensures that the employee's interests and rights are considered in sensitive areas such as salary negotiations and/or restructuring. In Heerbrugg, the Company also provides the services of a social helper, who is available to employees to discuss personal matters which may have an effect on their work performance.

We regularly conduct employee satisfaction surveys to find potential for improvement.

Our Code of Conduct, based on our shared values, sets out the required standards for personal conduct of all Leica Geosystems employees towards all stakeholders and covers topics in the areas of individual conduct in the workplace, business conduct in activities outside of the Company, and recognition and reward systems for teams and individuals.
