Leica DISTO™ D3a – The Leica distance meter with Smart Horizontal Mode™ for absolute precise measurements

(Heerbrugg, 1 March 2010) Developed in close cooperation with end-users, the Leica DISTO™ D3a offers high functionality combined with the well established precision of Leica Geosystems. The combination of distance and tilt measurements opens up a variety of new measuring options. Especially the horizontal distances can be calculated easy and precise with the Smart Horizontal Mode™.
With the Leica DISTO™ D3a, Leica Geosystems presents the successor of the well known Leica DISTO™ D3: a Laser Distance Meter with high precision and multiple functions.
Smart Horizontal Mode™
In this mode the Leica DISTO™ D3a measures a distance and a tilt. From these two values it calculates automatically the horizontal distance. The measuring precision is increased considerably in a very easy way with this function. Furthermore it can be measured over persons and obstructions without any problems. This is a decisive advantage when in crowded interiors and furnished buildings.
Multiple functions
The Leica DISTO™ D3a can calculate rectangular and triangular areas, volumes, room dimensions and various types of Pythagoras functions. A time delay release and enough memory for up to 20 measurements round off the instruments wide range of functions – a concept designed to make work life easier.
Brilliant and clearly arranged display
The results are displayed on the large (2”), clearly arranged and high contrast display. At the touch of a button, the display makes supplementary information available about the measurements, e.g. indirect height, room dimensions, angle information or room angles.
Despite all this functionality, the Leica DISTO™ D3a is simple to operate and extremely easy to handle. The robust design with IP 54 protection keeps the instrument safe from dust and splash water.
